Energy & Climate

Energy and climate recruiting.

The clean energy buildout runs on people who can do the work, not just talk about it. We place the developers, engineers, and operators behind solar, storage, efficiency, and building decarbonization.

Talent for the work that matters.

The market

The work is funded. The talent is scarce.

Local Law 97, federal incentives, state climate targets, and corporate net-zero commitments have turned the energy transition into a hiring problem. Buildings have to cut emissions. Projects have to get built. Both need people who have actually done it.

This is not a seat a generalist fills on a keyword match. You need someone who can tell a developer who closes deals from one who pads a resume, and who understands the funding and policy behind the role.

How we help

We recruit for the part of the transition you actually work in.

We know the sector

Solar and storage, energy efficiency, building electrification and decarbonization, ESG and sustainability. We screen for your corner of the work, not buzzwords.

We know the roles

Technical, operational, and commercial. Project developers and engineers, auditors and analysts, sustainability and policy leads, and the sales people who fund the pipeline.

We know the context

Funding cycles, incentive programs, and compliance deadlines shape these hires. We come out of the impact and green-economy world, so we get the context, not just the title.

Why us

We recruit from inside the mission, not outside it.

EqualAccess exists to widen access to the careers people build their lives on. The green economy is where a lot of that new access is being created right now, in technical and operational roles that did not exist a decade ago.

So this is a vertical we are building on purpose, not an afterthought bolted onto a generalist desk. When you hire here, you get a recruiter who understands both the work and why it matters.

Questions

The questions we hear most.

How much does energy and climate recruiting cost?

Fees are typically a percentage of first-year salary and depend on the role and seniority. Send us the seats and we will scope it.

What roles do you fill in energy and climate?

Technical, commercial, and operations roles across clean energy, climate tech, and sustainability, from individual contributors to leadership.

Do you understand this space?

Yes. We recruit for the work that matters and find people who want to be part of it, which is half the battle in mission-driven hiring.

What if the hire does not work out?

We vet hard so it is rare, and we back our placements with a guarantee, with the terms in writing up front.

What we screen for

Local Law 97 turned sustainability into an operations job.

Emissions caps, electrification deadlines, incentive paperwork. Buildings now need people who can handle the engineering and the bureaucracy at the same time, and that combination is rare enough to be worth a specialist search.

Technical depth you can check

Energy auditors, decarbonization analysts, electrification project managers. We verify the certifications that actually matter in this market, CEM and BPI among them, and then we dig into the project stories behind them, kilowatts and all.

Incentive literacy

NYSERDA programs, Con Edison rebates, federal credits. Half the return on a retrofit lives in paperwork, and we screen specifically for people who have captured that money before, not people who have read about it.

Translation skills

The best climate hires can make a board understand a heat pump. We test for candidates who carry a technical case to a non-technical owner without losing either audience, because stalled approvals kill more projects than bad engineering does.

Retrofits get executed by the building team, so pair this search with building services staffing. For the organizational side of the transition, our consulting practice helps structure the function.
